We are living in the LAST DAYS. “The End of the Ages”; The End time of the End of the Gospel Age.
Wikipedia defines Eschatology as : a part of theology, physics, and futurology concerned with what are believed to be the final events of history, the ultimate destiny of humanity — commonly referred to as the "end of the world" or "end time". ....
2Ti 3:1 But of this be assured: in the last days grievous times will set in.
2Ti 3:2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, profane. They will be disobedient to parents, thankless, irreligious,
2Ti 3:3 destitute of natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers. They will have no self-control, but will be brutal, opposed to goodness,
2Ti 3:4 treacherous, headstrong, self-important. They will love pleasure instead of loving God,
2Ti 3:5 and will keep up a make-believe of piety and yet live in defiance of its power. Turn away from people of this sort. WNT
JFB Commentary:
2Ti 3:1 You must understand this: In the last days there will be violent periods of time. GW
In the last days. In the last ages of the world. The expression is often used of the gospel dispensation.
Perilous times. Grievous, times of distress.
For men shall be. Some of the characteristics of men in that period are given. Such men probably exist in all ages, but at the time referred to by Paul they shall be in the predominance.
2Ti_3:1 Coming evil days: Signs of evil already: Contrast in the doctrine and life of Paul, which Timothy should follow in accordance with his early training in Scripture.

last days — preceding Christ’s second coming (2Pe_3:3; Jud_1:18). “The latter times,” 1Ti_4:1, refer to a period not so remote as “the last days,” namely, the long days of papal and Greek anti-Christianity.
perilous — literally, “difficult times,” in which it is difficult to know what is to be done: “grievous times.”

2Pe 3:3 First, you must understand this: In the last days people who follow their own desires will appear. These disrespectful people will ridicule God's promise
2Pe 3:4 by saying, "What's happened to his promise to return? Ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as it did from the beginning of the world."
2Pe 3:5 They are deliberately ignoring one fact: Because of God's word, heaven and earth existed a long time ago. The earth appeared out of water and was kept alive by water.
2Pe 3:6 Water also flooded and destroyed that world.
2Pe 3:7 By God's word, the present heaven and earth are designated to be burned. They are being kept until the day ungodly people will be judged and destroyed.
2Pet 3:3 Notes
Knowing this first — from the word of the apostles.
shall come — Their very scoffing shall confirm the truth of the prediction.
scoffers — The oldest manuscripts and Vulgate add, “(scoffers) in (that is, ‘with’) scoffing.” As Rev_14:2, “harping with harps.”
walking after their own lusts — (2Pe_2:10; Jud_1:16, Jud_1:18). Their own pleasure is their sole law, unrestrained by reverence for God.
