Nebuchadnezzar’s Statue in Daniel 2
This was a complete statue - fully formed. It was the vision of a Gentile King of the Babylonians.
- The Head of Gold. Nebuchadnezzar was the Head of Gold. Babylonian Empire.
“You are the king of kings.” This was a shadow or type of the Theocratic Government of Messiah who is The King of Kings which will control the nations of the world.
- The Chest of Silver - The Medo-Persian Empire
Note the decrease in quality from gold to silver. The Medo - Persian Empire was a split government one was strong and the other weaker.
- The Loins of Bronze - The Greecian Empire of Alexander the Great.
- The Legs of iron - The Roman Empire
- The Feet of Iron and Clay
But there are only FOUR KINGDOMS predicted in this Image for the Fifth one, the Feet of Iron and clay comes out of the Fourth.
Where is Christ and His Kingdom?
He is the Stone which crushes the image and grinds it to powder.
See Matthew 21 The Parable of the Vineyard
Mat 21:33 Hear another parable. There was a certain housemaster who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about, and dug a winepress in it, and built a tower, and rented it to vinedressers, and went into a far country.
Mat 21:34 And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers to receive its fruits.
Mat 21:35 And the vinedressers took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
Mat 21:36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did the same to them.
Mat 21:37 But last of all he sent his son to them, saying, They will respect my son.
Mat 21:38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and get hold of his inheritance.
Mat 21:39 And taking him, they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Mat 21:40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?
Mat 21:41 They said to Him, Bad men! He will miserably destroy them and will rent out his vineyard to other vinedressers who will give him the fruits in their seasons.
Mat 21:42 Jesus said to them, Did you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, this One has become the head of the corner; this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?"
Mat 21:43 Therefore I say to you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing out its fruits.
Mat 21:44 And he who falls on this Stone shall be broken, but on whomever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Mat 21:45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they knew that He spoke of them.
Mat 21:46 But seeking to lay hands on Him, they feared the crowd, because they held Him for a prophet.
o Powder
He is the STONE which is a stumbling block to both Jew and Gentile and He will grind them to powder.
See Daniel 2:43 As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.
Dan 2:44 And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,
Dan 2:45 just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. The great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure."
If these Four Kingdoms have already come as prophesied; if the first part of the Vision has occurred exactly as it was prophesied, so the second part of the Vision the Smashing of the Stone will certainly happen exactly as it was prophesied to Nebuchadnezzar.
Who Controls the nations? God does.
Dan 2:21 He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
Why are we told of just these Four Kingdoms?
They all controlled the city of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. It does not mention the Chinese or other powerful nations.
Jesus said “Luk 21:24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
What is the last part of the Vision still to be fulfilled?
Dan 2:45 just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure."
It is certain and exact The Last Part is going to happen.
The Toes of Iron and Clay are emphasized.
They are partly strong and partly brittle. They do not mix or unite. Islam is in the midst and does not mix. They do not hold together. We are living in the Times of the fulfilment of the last part of the Vision.
